The City of Nacogdoches Planning Department is responsible for current and long-range planning.
Current planning includes zoning, subdivision review, site plan review, airport zoning, historic preservation projects and grant work (state and local), downtown redevelopment, unsafe structure abatement, and other day-to-day activities. Long-range planning involves comprehensive planning for areas of the city and the city as a whole.
The Planning Department also oversees the city's compliance with the architectural barrier provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
