IT workers create or support computer applications, systems, and networks. Overall employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 15 percent from 2020 to 2030, with occupations such as web & digital developers, programmers, system & security analysts, network & software developers, and database administrators.  Some roles—including software developer, web developer and information security engineer—are expected to grow at rates of up to 33% by 2030. The median wage for Computer and IT Technology occupations is $86,320 (2018), while the median wage for all occupations is $38,640.
