Incoming Chair Welcomed at NEDCO Annual Meeting

The Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation welcomed a new Chairman of the Board, Robert Flores, during NEDCO’s Board Meeting on Thursday, October 8 at The Fredonia Hotel.

The event also marked the end of Gary Stokes’ term as NEDCO's Chairman of the Board. He will continue to serve NEDCO in the role of Past Chairman for the duration of the 2020-2021 officer term.

In his final delivery to the NEDCO Board as Chairman, Stokes outlined the economic development progress the community has seen within the past three years of his term. Highlights include progress on the I-69 expansion, the creation of the East Texas Manufacturing Alliance, graduating more than 50 business owners through entrepreneurship programs, and numerous capital investments including the SFASU STEM building, NacSpace, and Dr. Cline’s new medical facility.

Robert Flores enters the position of Chairman of the Board with a long-held familiarity with NEDCO and it’s activities through his tenure at Elliott Electric Supply, a major employer within Nacogdoches that champions over 20 years of partnership with the organization. Flores received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from SFA in 1985 and is now the Chief Financial Officer for Elliott Electric Supply.
