NacSpace founders broke ground at 2526 N. Stallings Drive, surrounded and encouraged by community stakeholders on August 27th, 2018. The new data center is partnered with Elliott Electric Supply, a Nacogdoches-grown business since 1976, with over 40 locations. Nacogdoches County Sales Tax is up 4.25% for the year. Unemployment figures for Nacogdoches County are 4.7% (City of Nacogdoches is 5.2%). In comparison, the Texas Unemployment rate is at 4.2%, and the U.S. Unemployment Rate is 4.2%.

Nacogdoches County Sales Tax is up 3.11% for the year. Unemployment figures for Nacogdoches County are at a low 3.6% (City of Nacogdoches is 3.7%). In comparison, the Texas Unemployment rate is at 3.8%, and the U.S. Unemployment Rate is 3.7%.

The Lone Star Legislative Summit will take place on April 12th and 13th. The summit is hosted by State Senator Robert Nichols and State Representative Travis Clardy and produced by the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce. The LSLS Summit will feature numerous legislators, representatives, and elected officials. Governor Abbott and Attorney General Paxton will be in attendance. The Summit will touch on important issues including healthcare, energy, tourism, school safety, and more.

Nacogdoches has been designated as an “Opportunity Zone” by Governor Greg Abbott. The Opportunity Zone was created by the 2017 federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Its purpose is to encourage businesses to develop and invest in low-income communities. Nacogdoches is one of the cities that has missed out on development opportunities due to its rurality. As an Opportunity Zone, Nacogdoches will hopefully soon gain attention from developers and benefit economically.
