Nacogdoches EDC Hires President and CEO
The Nacogdoches EDC Board of Directors announced that the position of President-CEO has been filled by Larissa Philpot. Chairman Jimmy Mize said “we know that Larissa has a strong relationship with the community and it is obvious that she is the right fit for the EDC. We don’t think there’s any part of the job that she can’t do and look forward to Larissa's leadership and vision to bring success to the community.” Ms. Philpot currently serves as the Planning Director for the City of Nacogdoches.
An Arlington, Texas native, Philpot is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in environmental science and a master’s degree in public administration. Philpot worked her way up in the city’s planning department, where she joined as an intern while still a student at SFA. Larissa was named assistant city planner in 2003 and planning director in 2009, and earned certification through the American Institute of Certified Planners.
Ms. Philpot will assume her new position by mid-April. She replaces Nancy Windham, who served as President-CEO from July 2014 until August 2016.
