Lufkin, Texas – November 9, 2016 - Ark Pharmacies, Inc. received the State of Texas Small Business Award for Nacogdoches County and Recognition by Governor Abbott’s Office at the 2016 Governor’s Small Business Forum and Texas Forest Country Economic Summit.
Ruth Hughs, Commissioner Representing Employers, Texas Workforce Commission, presented the awards, along with Brad Napp, Business Development & Advocacy at Office of Governor Greg Abbott, State of Texas.
Ark Pharmacies, owned by Garth and Holly Hinze, acquired Nacogdoches businesses M & S Pharmacy in 2010 and Striplings’ Pharmacy in 2012. Since then, they started a distribution company, acquired three pharmacies in central Texas and started a rural health clinic company in the same area. Ark Pharmacies improves the overall health of the community by providing a compassionate and convenient environment where their patient’s pharmacy and healthcare needs can be met. They are dedicated to the local communities, and always provide caring professional services at all of their Pharmacies.
Both Garth Hinze and Ray Mitchum are personally dedicated to serving the needs of the local community. Ray Mitchum, director of Compounding Services, serves as the Vice-Chair of Membership for the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of the Nacogdoches Rotary. Garth Hinze is a member of the Nacogdoches Economic Development Corp. and has volunteered numerous hours helping individuals interested in starting their own business through the Entrepreneur Certification Program.
